Agricultural Training Program
Building sustainable farming skills for food security and livelihood development.
Overview
The Agricultural Training Program equips Myanmar migrants with the skills and knowledge needed to grow their own food and develop agricultural livelihoods. Many migrants come from farming backgrounds but face different soil, climate, and crop conditions in Thailand. Our program provides hands-on training in modern farming techniques adapted to the local environment.
Activities
- Hands-on training in organic farming techniques
- Community garden establishment and management
- Seed distribution and crop selection guidance
- Water management and irrigation training
- Post-harvest handling and food preservation
- Market access and agricultural entrepreneurship
- Composting and soil health workshops
Impact
Multiple community gardens have been established, benefiting dozens of families. Participating families have reduced their food expenses by an average of 40%, and some have begun selling surplus produce at local markets, creating additional income streams.
