Overview

The Basic Motor Sewing Machine Training program provides vocational skills training to Myanmar migrants, with a particular focus on empowering women. The garment industry is a major employer in the Thai-Myanmar border region, and skilled sewers are in high demand. Our training program equips participants with the practical skills needed to secure employment or start their own small sewing businesses.

Impact

Over 300 individuals, predominantly women, have completed the sewing training program. More than 80% of graduates have secured employment in local garment factories or started their own home-based sewing businesses. The program has become a critical pathway to economic independence for many Myanmar women.
