Basic Food Support Program
Providing essential food packages to vulnerable families and communities in need.
Overview
The Basic Food Support Program is one of Blossom Future’s core humanitarian initiatives, designed to address the immediate food security needs of vulnerable Myanmar communities and migrant families living in Thailand. We distribute essential food packages containing rice, cooking oil, canned goods, dried foods, and other nutritional items to families who struggle to meet their basic dietary needs.
Many Myanmar migrants and displaced families face significant food insecurity due to limited income, lack of legal work permits, and the high cost of living. Our program ensures that no family goes hungry while they work toward building sustainable livelihoods.
Activities
- Monthly food package distribution to registered families
- Emergency food assistance during crises and natural disasters
- Nutritional assessment and dietary guidance
- Coordination with local markets and suppliers for fresh produce
- Community kitchen events for communal meals and social connection
- Referrals to livelihood programs for long-term food security
Impact
Since launching this program, we have delivered over 15,000 food packages to families across the Mae Sot region. The program has significantly reduced malnutrition rates among participating families and has provided a critical safety net during economic downturns and emergencies.
Beyond nutrition, the food distribution events serve as community gathering points where families connect, share information, and access referrals to our other programs — creating a holistic support network.
